Will I Ever Get Beyond “This?”

You’re likely reading this blog post because you wrestle with an emotion that torments you or will not leave you alone for a lickety-slit-second! I get that!

For years my “this” was a concoction of anger, mixed with a cup of fear and two tablespoons of resentment.  I still loved my former husband.  And just when I thought I was getting over him, he’d pick up the kids for the weekend. I’d melt the second I laid eyes on him.  Then… all of my ups and down would twirl out of control once again.

Whether single again, widowed, whether you’ve adopted kids, or never married, you’ve all experienced at one time or another a “this” – that thing that tilts you upside down, thrusting you into the loop-de-loop of trying to find your balance. It’s actually not lack of “balance” you’re suffering from, but lack of emotional wellness or stability. So how does one get that?

Such a question over the years served as the catalyst of my book – The Single Mom and Her Rollercoaster Emotions.  But what I’ve learned since the book came out in 2014 is this: learning to manage my emotions in a Christ-like way (anger, bitterness, fear, loneliness, etc.) is a life-long struggle, an ever-present reality I MUST learn to overcome on a regular basis.  But how?

And so…yet another exciting Pam Kanaly adventure is about to begin! I’m so thrilled about the online Bible Study – High’s and Low’s.  I’m be teaching from September15th-November 3rd on how to manage our emotions so they don’t manage us.  It’s a question only we can answer truthfully about ourselves, “Am I living in emotional poverty or God’s prosperity?”  How would one know? Here’s a reliable formula:

Living under the influence of feelings = emotional poverty.

Living under the influence of the Holy Spirit = God’s prosperity.

My friend, I hope you’ll join me. Each week I’ll present a ten-minute video along with an online chat on a particular negative emotion that can easily get the best of us. We’ll discover how to bring Jesus right into the midst of that sentiment in order to find immediate relief. And don’t forget to join an online Arise Ministries’ THRIVE GROUP, serving as a small community in order to establish quality friendships. Girlfriend, you’ll love it!

So now the ball’s in your court.  Will you choose to get beyond your “this?”  Of course, you will!  Sign-up right now for HIGH’S AND LOW’S at www.arise ministries.net.

I can’t wait to meet you there!

About Pam Kanaly

Aloha! I’m Pam Kanaly, President and co-founder of Arise Ministries. But actually, I think Arise found me wanting to bless single moms years ago. Ministry was never on my mind as a kid. All I wanted to be was a hula dancer. So Mother enrolled me in the tiny tots’ class. Guess God knew I’d have two grandbabies born in Hawaii. I love the great outdoors. You might even find me spending time with my husband grizzly bear watching or camping. In fact, it was on a turkey hunt that God gave me the name Arise Ministries in 2002. I suppose it’s a good thing that I majored in Grammar in college since I love to write words of encouragement to single moms.
