12 Bible Verses for Every Type of Mom

We all pass through difficult seasons of ups and downs. Sometimes in the middle of a situation, you don’t always know where to turn in God’s Word for just the right encouragement. Here are a few Bible verses that have had special meaning to me over the years—and particularly as a mom. Hopefully one of these will be a perfect fit for what you’re facing today.

The Foggy Mom

Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

The Overwhelmed Mom

Isaiah 43:1-2 –Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.

The Exhausted Mom

Matthew 11:28 – Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

The Anxious Mom

Psalm 62:5–6 – For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.

The Exasperated Mom

Psalm 55:22 – Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.

The Fearful Mom

Deuteronomy 31:8 – It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

The Disappointed Mom

Romans 8:28 – And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

The Weary Mom

Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

The Grieving Mom

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 –  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,  who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

The Lonely Mom

Isaiah 58:11 –And the LORD will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

The Tempted Mom

1 Corinthians 10:13 – No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

The Forgotten Mom

Isaiah 49:15-16 – Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.

Oh, the value of God’s written Word to us! Charles Spurgeon said it well, “Nobody ever outgrows Scripture; the book widens and deepens with our years.”

About Pam Kanaly

Aloha! I’m Pam Kanaly, President and co-founder of Arise Ministries. But actually, I think Arise found me wanting to bless single moms years ago. Ministry was never on my mind as a kid. All I wanted to be was a hula dancer. So Mother enrolled me in the tiny tots’ class. Guess God knew I’d have two grandbabies born in Hawaii. I love the great outdoors. You might even find me spending time with my husband grizzly bear watching or camping. In fact, it was on a turkey hunt that God gave me the name Arise Ministries in 2002. I suppose it’s a good thing that I majored in Grammar in college since I love to write words of encouragement to single moms.
